This collection of pages describing life in the Boroughs of Northampton was created by Ruth Thomas as part of a Local Heritage Initiative. Among the expected deliverables for the project was a resource pack and website. However when funding ended the original website was taken down in 2009. The majority of the original pages have been recreated here, and reviewed and updated by Ruth.
Spring Lane School was one of the first Board schools in Northampton and has served as a community centre throughout its 130 year history. The project engaged with many generations of pupils in assembling a picture of the social, educational, industrial and environmental changes in the Boroughs during this time.
