Dr JOHN EVANS LIST OF DISSENTING CONGREGATIONS 1715-29
Dr John Evans was the minister of Hand Alley Presbyterian meeting in London. This list compiled and updated by Evans between 1715 and 1729 and provides a survey of Baptist, Independent and Presbyterian congregations. The full list is held at Dr Williams’ Library in London (reference MS 34.4)
The details for Northamptonshire are shown in the table. The numbers of hearers and Voters should be treated with caution as they may not accurately reflect our interpretation of these descriptions. As can be seen some of the Presbyterian ministers were in fact ejected Church of England clergy. For convenience the modern parish names are shown in the first column.
